Malibu Express (1985)

How bad is it? It's a minor T&A detective film with poor production.
Should you see it? Yes. It has its charms.

I'd seen Andy Sidaris' first two films, "Stacey and Her Gangbusters," a rather good female detective film and "Seven," which was less memorable, but I didn't expect this, the first of about 10 films Sidaris made that became his own genre of boobs and explosions. The title comes from the name of a boat, and has little to do with the film, thouhg much of it was shot near Malibu. Sybil Danning, known for showing her body and poor acting, gives her best performance (very underrated!) here and never removes her clothes, though the eye-popping costumes she wears leave little to the imagination. A lot of other women, though, appear naked. The film introduces wise-cracking cowboy detective Travis Abilene  (played by Darby Hinton here, by others in later films) in a case that involves industrial espionage, murder and blackmail. But mostly boobs and explosions.
